I had a WinXp pc and now I have a Win7 pc ... the win7 pc was built from scratch with a clean install.

When I go to any website that needs to know where I live the location is wrong. For example ... I go to Staples.com and the store that comes up is two hours away ... and I live outside a much bigger city.

I'm thinkig Win7 has somesort of value to describe my location ... like a zip code ... but I can't figure it out and searching seems to churn up things related to IP addresses and the like.

Is there a way to update where the dsk my pc is on is located???

... that's because websites get your location from your IP address?
Windows 7 has no native way of knowing where in the world it is - websites are getting that from what your IP address is. Just try refreshing it - should work.

It's probably getting the information from your ISP's IP address. My location is wrong, too. I don't worry about it.

Every website I go to shows me the wrong store location (staples, walmart, etc.)or the wrong starting point (mapquest, etc.) so I have to change it ... which is a pain in the rear.
