As i said before i would really like to be able to play Lord of the Rings Online on this computer, below are the minimum system requirements for this game:
OS: Windows® XP
Processor: Intel Pentium® 4 1.8 GHz or equivalent
RAM: 512 MB
Video: 64 MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 3 or ATI® Radeon® 8500
Disk Space: 7 GB available
DirectX: DirectX® 9.0c
Optical Drive: 2x DVD-ROM
Internet: 56kbps Modem
I have been looking at the following computer from Dell as i think it is a decent computer for the price (£499):
Dell Studio 15
With Hi-Def LED Screen, Graphics Card, Surround Sound and HDMI connection
Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor T4300 (2.1GHz, 800MHz, 1MB cache)
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit- English
15.6in Widescreen High Definition (1366x768) WLED with TrueLife
512MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4570
4096MB 800MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x2048]
500GB (5.400rpm) SATA Hard Drive
Fixed Internal DVD+/-RW Slot Load Drive including Software
1 year of coverage included with your PC
Do you think this is good value for money or do you think i could get something better? Also, do you think its powerful enough to play the game that i listed above.
Any recommendations you could give me would be greatly appreciated as i have never owned a Laptop before and dont know to much about them.
I assume you can customize the Dell to a degree, correct? If you cannot bump up the graphics card (even though for your use it'll be just fine), maybe see if you can bump up the processor a bit. Maybe get into the T6xxx series, as I think you'll see more of an all around better experience. I know a few with the T5xxx series and really, I think they are rather sluggish. So ya might as well see what you can do there. Otherwise than that, you're good to go.
