This is not pinball related. but your the expert and extensive
electronics background could steer me the right way. I have a Dig Dug
machine that after i've pulled out back out of storage after 5 years.
Seems the display looks like someone took the vertical hold and turned
it all the way to one direction. Kinda like diagonal moving snow. I
took the monitor in to be tested. tested good. pulled all the chips
and cleaned them all. Still same result. Game starts up fine. you
can hear everything going on. joystick works and all buttons work,
just can't see anything. replaced the entire board, same result.
Could the capactor on the powersupply be the cause? I heard and read
that dig dug is very sensative to voltages and if they are off or low,
it can mess up the visuals. Thoughts? Plus you know anywhere you can
find a 27000UF 15VDC CAP

I'd try a different monitor first. I'm no expert, but monitor problems are
usually monitor problems. You can take a meter and see what voltage is
getting to the game's board. LTG :)

that site helped out a lot. thanks a ton. i knew that big blue cap was
the culpret. but wanted to make sure cuz it's damn hard to find and
didn't want to waste precious time looking for something that wasn't
going to work anyway.

thanks again guys, you rock as always.
