Some friends and I are publishing a local rag called Gone Magazine and we're considering handling the printing ourselves rather than suffer the expense of a third party print shop.

My needs in a printer are as follows;

1) Good with high contrast b&w images.
2) Decent color for graphics and the occasional photo.
3) Lowest cost per page/longest cartridge life
4) Durability; (the printer will be used to print about 2000 pages per month - 100 of which will be in color).

We will be printing 50 magazines per month at 20 pages each. The above estimate of 2000 pages per month is allowing for reprints and general screw-ups. The cover will be in color (usually featuring a graphic rather than a photo). The body will be in B&W with text, graphics, and the occasional photo.

There is no need for a specific hook up; usb, wi-fi, etc.

Thanks in advance for any advice or tips!
