New drivers vs old

i have anti readon 5770 when install the new catalyst driver like 12.8 older games like sonic generations assassins' creed etc begin to stutter and freeze while with the 10.4 driver everything worked fine could someone tell me how i can get rid of the stuttering and freezing in older games when updating to the newer drivers

i haven"T applied the profile fixes yet could that be the problem?
