I just got my new price list today, was fairly excited that the barton was listed. Till I saw what they are chargeing, Crypes!!!! These are in canadian prices so you americans just ignore these.

SUPERCOM PART# NEW! AMD ATHLON XP PROCESSORS (BARTON) PRICE
XC-AXDA2500BOX AMD ATHLON XP 2500 + / 1.83GHZ (BARTON), 333FSB, 512K, SOCKET A, PGA, RETAIL $340.00
XC-AXDA2800BOX AMD ATHLON XP 2800 + / 2.08GHZ (BARTON), 333FSB, 512K, SOCKET A, PGA, RETAIL $710.00
XC-AXDA3000BOX AMD ATHLON XP 3000 + / 2.25GHZ (BARTON), 333FSB, 512K, SOCKET A, PGA, RETAIL $1110.00

Also RD came down again and DDR went up for some odd reason. On the contrary to what Eden says the price delta between the two is very marginal now.

256mb of 1066 32bit RD are 170.00 a piece
256mb of 3200 400mhz DDR are 120.00 a piece

Holy crap!

When I had read the US 579$, I did not expect the US to CDN to flat out flush itself to hell in value, and nearly double!
Now, this is where we can "Test" things and see just how many in Canada are willing to actually pay for the XP3000. The XP2500+ is not badly priced, it is near the XP2400's, while the XP2800 is going too far.

Now I don't know about your RAM prices, but I still think they are way too big to justify going for RDRAM. Currently 512MB is the norm, the amount becomes very big for RDRAM.
