BCMSMMSG - Is that necessary to be there in the Startup folder in System
Configuration utility.

What really it is. I am using Dsl/Cable connection.

Is this also could be a spyware installed?

BCMSMMSG is BCMSMMSG.exe - BCM voicemodem driver. Required for dial-up.

You either have DSL or cable.

Thanks, So since I am using DSL/Cable I do not need this to be start at all
for any other programs? I can stop this starting and save memory?

Yes.

You can probably uninstall your dialup modem in the Device Manager also.

BCMSMMSG is needed for the BCM V.92 56K voice modes. Perhaps for
other voice modems. Once I converted to cable internet access, I
removed it from startup with no problems.
