Dell Inspiron 8600 Notebook

Hi out there. I see by another thread that I am not the first person who has had the "I" key and the "8" on my Dell Inspiron stop working. I have removed the key covers and cleaned the parts, but alas, they still do not work. I even tried downloading a new BIOS driver, but all I could figure out was how to save it to my desktop so I am not sure that it installed. I have rebooted, and still no "I" or "8" keys. It's a great notebook so I want to save if I can. HELP--I'm not all that computer savy--so try to explain in simple terms if you can! Thanks. Lucy

Not sure if you are asking if it is a new keyboard or if you are telling me I need a new keyboard. It is the original notebook keyboard and everything works but these two keys? Does this make any sense? L
