Best Graphics Cards For The Money: June '09

Best Graphics Cards For The Money: June '09

This month, ATI's new Radeon HD 4770 is missing in action, since online stores are not only unable to keep it in stock, but also de-listing it completely. With violent movements in pricing, though, it'd have been taken off the recommended list anyway. Read more

Editor's Corner: Nvidia’s Ion Revisited, 7.1 Ch. LPCM Fixed

Nvidia's Ion for the do-it-yourselfer launched last month in the form of Zotac's mini-ITX motherboard. Though sexy in principle, the platform had some teething pains right out of the gate. Chris Angelini revisits those issues and uses Ion as a real HTPC. Read more

Do you want a quick Core i7 system, but don’t feel confident sticking to Intel's spec and using the DDR3-1066 memory supported by the processor? We benchmark the most relevant memory speed and timing combinations to check the benefit of going faster. Read more

Dead Space: Performance Analyzed

Dead Space: Performance Analyzed

Dead Space is an excellent sci-fi survival horror title, and one of the few games that Nvidia supports with its new driver's ambient occlusion feature. We put the game through our usual image-quality and performance tests to see what we could learn. Read more

Marcel and I met last night about the show. It will be December 3rd &
4th at the Central Campus of Broward Community College. Load in will
be the Friday before or Staurday morning. Expo hours will be Saturday,
December 3rd from 10am to 11pm and Sunday, December 4th from Noon to
5pm. Admission will be free again this year and a limited number of
shirts will be available.

Marcel and I talked about workshops and a flea market area but decided
that the event was still "too young" for events like that. We did
decide to have a tournament with prizes. We are also looking for a
machine to be given away as a door prize.

Web site will be updated shortly and hotel information will be included
again. You will also be able to register your games on-line as to what
you want to bring. Everyone that brings at least one game will get a
shirt again.

Anyone interested in helping run things, and we could use some help,
please e-mail me at nflis4me(at)aol.com or post here directly. We will
most likely have a organizational meeting in August and go from there.

Does the "South Florida Arcade and Pinball Expo" even exist anymore? I'd appreciate any information. The website is not reachable.

I'm looking for a Missile Command machine, this would probably be a good place to find one.

Thanks
