Hey. I have an hdmi cable that i plan to use for my xbox360. my monitor that im using has a hdmi port, but no built in speakers... i have a separate set of speakers that i would like to use but the only plug i have for my monitor is a 1/8 head phone jack. is there any way i can connect my speakers to my monitor using that jack?

Only if the monitor itself has a headphone jack output. Otherwise no.
