TV/PS3 Audio question

Hi All,
Just wanted to ask a quick question regarding audio set up for my current system.
I have a 32inch tv hooked up to my PS3 for watching blu ray films but am looking for a 5.1 audio system to link up with it. However i am unsure how to best go about this as it will be my first 5.1 system. The ps3 has an optical out but then so does the tv, what type of system should i be looking for as many come with a dvd player which i dont want. Can i just buy an amp and speakers (will that work)
Any input on this would be a great help.

the Onkyo HT-S5200 ($500) would be everything you need. you might jus need to buy an optical digital cable. try looking at this website. when you get to the home page click continue and on the left pick your device under home theater. Click a/v reciver and game console and on the right there are the options you have to connect your audio and video. there is also a diagram. Hope this helps.
