I really like the specs fn the Asus G51J but I am spooked by the heating and BSOD issues that I keep reading about and have not yet seen a solution for. Seem to able to find someone who loves every other brand and someone who has a horror story about the same brand.

14_Please tell us any additional information if needed.
I work on both Mac and PC desktops and would get a Mac PowerBook except for the fact that I'm going back for a second degree in IT in January and want to be fully compatible with the PC environment that I know I will be immersed in. The more I look the more indecisive I'm becoming. I need some real help and guidance. Please don't be shy with your opinions.
Here are the computers that I've been mulling over:
i7-720QM / 15.6" 1920x1080 / 4GB DDR3 / 320GBx2 7200 / 1GB GTX 260M / 2yr Warranty with 1 Yr Accidental $1500
My favorite specs (and price) but I've ruled this one out because of instability. I'm open to thoughts.
Dell XPS 16
i7-720QM / 15.6" 1920x1080 / 6GB DDR3 / 320GB 7200 / 1GB ATI MOB RAD 4670 / 2yr Warranty with 2 Yr Accidental $1512
Good looking specs and warranty. Have a few reservations about Dell customer service and the capability of this graphics card.
i7-720QM / 15.6" 1600x900 / 4GB DDR3 / 320GB 7200 / 1GB GTX 260M / 1yr Warranty $1507
Great specs but the warranty is lacking and the cost to extend it is extortionate.
i7-720QM / 17.3" 1600x900 / 4GB DDR3 / 320GB 7200 / 1GB GT 230M / 3yr Warranty with 3 yr Accidental $1270
Like everything except for the GPU. I'm not sure the graphics card is up to the task.
Looks like the best bang for your buck would be the XPS 16. Some say that they are complete junk, while others like them. Personally, I've never had a problem with a Dell laptop (family has a bunch of them). Plus, you are going with the 2 year warranty, which will protect you just in case it turns out to be a problem.
