I am new to the AMD XP world, so maybe someone can help me with something.

I just installed a XP chip on a MSI KT 4 Ultra motherboard. When I get into WinXP, the speed is listed as 1.15, but I thought based on the model # the speed was suppose to be 1.5.

What do I need to look at in the BIOS to make sure I'm getting all the speed I deserve??

Thanks.

you have the fsb set to 100 so it is calculating the speed as 100X11.5=1150MHz.You need to set the fsb to 133Mhz to get the full speed of 133X11.5=1530.To do this, you need to go into your bios and change it.Not sure quite what itn will be under in your bios but look around until you see something showing the calculations i have shown you. There may also be a jumper on your board which needs changing from 100MHz fsb to 133-have a look in your manual to check if there is such a jumper. Most motherboards now do not use such jumpers but i am not sure about the KT4.

no matter how hard you try, you can't polish a turd. :]
