Mother's day gift ...

My wife's camera broke down .....ok ...I broke it ...or accidentally drop it ...and now the camera lens thing wont open . I wish i could return it to manufacturer (kodak) to fix but I suspect it will cost more than the camera itself (about 200 dlls.). Any recommendations on a good portable 150-200 dlls. rage camera?

For your info, I have purchased quite a few cameras and lenses from B&H. Good reliable outfit. Sometimes they try to upsell you stuff like tripods, flash, extra batteries, etc.

The best recommendation is Sony - DSCW650/B for point-and-shoot camera but the new Nikon coolpix s3300 offers various colors like purple and pink which could absolutely make your wife appreciate the gadget more. both cameras cost about 120-150 bucks. both have the capability to record 720HD movies.
