why does everyone call it a "tidal wave" can't they spell the word

two very different things....... even one of the BBC reporters called it a tidal wave today i was pretty disappointed. ok i'm over that.


23K people reported dead and about 10K people unaccounted for are the latest figures.

and i would be rather interested in how much it moved the entire world. anything that big has got to have a large effect. but i guess events like this have been happening for the entire earths history. so the earth can handle it i think.

yes the news i have heard is this.

23K dead (all over the region)

20K estimated dead (in one area of coast, in one country)

10K unaccounted for (in another country/coast)

many areas "uncontactable" so NO numbers or even esitmates have come in.

and there is a country (used to be called burma) that is not contactable by westerners as its a closed country. so we will never know from there (if my sources are correct)

its pretty damn huge. i personally wouldn't be suprised to see it rise past 50K

I saw a newspaper today with a women on her knees, from the darker skinned kind like a Sri Lankan, with a desperate crying face. It just struck me so much seeing her like that. Poor people.

yeah there has and will be so much emotion.

the hardest thing i think would be to never see a loved one again, never see a body of them either. it would be very hard to take the loss of someone (or your whole family) without any closure on it. not knowing if they are dead or alive.

i think that this will be a serious crisi for years to come. suposedly over 1 million people are homeless. and now 28K people are confirmed dead.

Ned, now they are reporting over 40,000 dead and or missing.
