Every time i boot my PC i get this message

"Boot From Atapi CD-ROM
Disk boot faliure insert system disk and press enter"

This results me in putting in the Windows XP Pro cd into the drive to boot.

I want to know how to solve this problem ie not putting in the cd every time i start my PC.

My BIOS is set to boot floppy,hdd-0,CD-ROM and there is no floopy disk in the floppy drive when i boot. I tried reinstalling the windows Xp but still does not work.
this is my system

Motherboard LEX BN790TM
AMD Athlon 200 XP
128MB DDR
40GB
64MB GEforce

Any help or suggestions i would be very grateful

Thanks

Try booting from IDE first and cdrom second. No reason to have it set up to boot from the floppy under normal operating conditions anyway.

It sounds like your HD doesn't have a bootable partition. The only time I have had it skip the HD-0 is on a blank harddrive.

You might try downloading Part from www.ranish.com and check the partition to make sure it is bootable. I also use part to switch from "Unknown IPL" to "Standard IPL", sometimes that fixes boot problems.
