Windows 7 only boots in safe mode otherwise the screen is black

i was using my HP 2711x last night and it was working wonderfully, and today i turn it on to do some homework and it doesn't show me the login screen, it's just black. and then i try it in safe mode and it works, what could be the problem? and can you explain step by step so i don't miss anything, thank you

no error on the event log? try uninstall and reinstall the video driver.

I would try system restore.
