athlon model numbers

hi,

i've read a few posts on this topic but still dont understand-

does amd produce 1600 to 2000 processors using tbred B core? if so how can you tell form model nubers? At dabs.com (a UK retailer) they have 1700's with two different numbers AXDA1700DLT3C and AX1700DMT3C (same is true for other processors they have) is one of these palomino and the other tbred A or B? any help grreatly appreciated

You can also go over to overclockers.com and check out their database for good overclocking cores.

its a bit of a hodge-podge really as to what is what

the 0.18micron Palomino went from XP1500 to XP2100.
the o.13micron TbredA went from XP1700+ to XP2200+ but it was rare to find the XP2000+ or XP2100+ in the tbredA.

the tbredB mostly was XP2400+ and above, but recently they have came out a XP2000+ and even a few XP1700+'s... and they overclock VERY well indeed.

the 'da' specifies that it is a tbred but doesn't tell you whether it is 'a' or 'b'.Go to this <A HREF="http://www.overclockers.com/tips00173/" target="_new">link</A> to see how to tell them apart.

it's easy to unlock a tbred b (especially compared to a palomino) but you will probably need some conductive paint or a conductive pen.Some say car window de-fogger works.All you need to do is join the last l3 bridge.Go <A HREF="http://www.overclockers.com.au/article.php?id=118669" target="_new">here</A> to see how to do it.

it does look quite easy, thanks for the info guys, ill let you know if i manage to get some good overclocking, i'm aiming for about 2 to 2.2 ghz
