My system: ECS KS75A motherboard, Athlon XP 2000+ CPU, ATI Radeon 7500 video, 256MB PC2100 DDR, plus other components that are probably irrelevant to my problem.

The problem started when I replaced my old processor with the Ath XP. If I run the system bus at 100MHZ, it's recognized as an Athlon 1250, and the system runs OK. When I get the system bus to 133 (where it should be), the chip is properly recognized on POST as an Athlon XP 2000+, but as Windows loads, the system either randomly reboots or randomly freezes if it did get to the desktop.

What could be the possible cause of the problem?

Thanks for any info.

It's probably RAM or PSU. You didn't say what PSU your running. I'd say PSU right off the bat without knowing more.

If it ain't broke, take it apart & see why not!
