A New AMD 6core, Do i or don't i?

I'll be using heavy video editing and rendering software, musical software, and the odd gaming?
Is there anything i should know about this setup that im overlooking?

i much prefer intel, i use to be all amd back in early 2000's. i tried to build a amd system a few weeks ago, i ended up swapping out for an intel due to performance issues. but thats just my take on it. also amd systems are not setup officially for anything above 1333 ram so you need to be very careful on which ram you purchase.
