Hi,

I have a laptop just 1year old, and i realise my battery life is real short. (Die's around 5minute)
Any help/advice can be given? Other than replacing a new battery?

ThankYou in advance.

Unless you've done something to the battery, it should last longer than a year.

There's a history of problems with laptop batteries failing and catching fire so check the laptop maker's site to see if there's a recall notice on your model.

If not, I think I would return to the retailer -- and don't take any nonsense about warranty -- it's common sense that the battery should remain usable for well over 12 months under your normal consumer rights.

I did not do anything to the battery.
My computer model is Compaq Presario B1286TU.
I googled up and didnt find anyone having same problem here.
