AMD better for gaming, while P4 better for work?

Is it true that on the balance of things, while a 2.4 P4 and a XP 2400+ perform to the same extent etc., that an AMD system usually outperforms p4s in games, while p4s outperform them in work related applications? I know it depends from time to time and other things like chipset, ram etc but on average...

If so I better get an AMD cuz I don't do any work.

Well no it doesn't really answer the question because according to the benchmarks' gaming performance section, some are topped by AMD some by Intel. Unless you mean that they are on average the same?

You just answered your own question, some games work better on the P4, some work better on the Athlon. The numbers speak for themselves, what do you want me to lie by saying, "yes the Athlon is better"?
