I have had a Viewsonic VX922 LCD monitor for 2-3 years now. For the last 2 weeks it has been causing problems. Every single time I boot my PC, change resolution, or change my refresh rate my screen goes black. The green power light on my monitor then flashes on and off while the screen is black. I then have to turn off my monitor for at least 5 minutes then back on again for it to work properly. Obviously this is extremely annoying to go through this every single time I start my computer. Could my monitor be failing? Or maybe its video card or virus related?

Here's my PC specs:
Intel Core2 Duo E8400 @3.00GHz
2 x 2GB Corsair DDR2 RAM
2 x 250GB Western Digital HD
GeForce 8800GT 512MB PCI-E 2.0
Windows XP Professional
I don't know the exact motherboard I have but I can figure it out if needed.
