Hi everyone,

Last night I had my computer (Dual core, Win7) in hibernation mode, and it just turned itself on (resumed from hibernation) for no apparent reason.

Did this happen to anybody else ? Could some slight irregularity in the electric line explain it ?

Could be a power glitch, could be the machine is set to Wake on LAN, could be wake on Timer, could be a maintenance (defrag etc)... could be any number of things.

Hi :)

Due to problems most experienced users turn OFF all hibernation and sleep mode stuff in Windows...its erratic to say the least....

All the best Brett :)

Really? I use it on Vista with no issues all the time. Never had a random switch on.

I come across this quite a lot as well and usually find the answer in Scheduled Tasks - sometimes from programmes people didn't even know they had. :D

Thanks all for your replies.

But if it was a scheduled task shouldn't it happen regularly or at least from time to time ? It's the first time ever I see this on my machine. Anyway it can still be glitch of power I guess.
