Hi,
I just bought an 8300. Is there an easy way to get a list of all the
components? I mean who made it and the model number. For example my
"acknowledgment" says I have 1024MB DDr SDRAM at 400MHz. It doesn't say who
made it. Also, It says I have a 120GB Serial ATA Har Drive (7200rpm). It
does say who made it or model numbers or other information. Can anyone
help?
Thanks, Jim
PS As I look over the data I received I notice I don't have an invoice. I
have papers that Dell labels "Packing" and "Acknowledgement". How do I get
an invoice?
Thanks again

A system information too like the free Aida32 will identify the vast
majority of components installed in your system. There are others. Belarc
Advisor is another popular tool, also free.

My invoice for the Dell Dimension 4600 which I recently ordered arrived
in the post this morning. The machine was delivered on 29 March 2004.

You'll get a detailed invoice in a couple of weeks.
The memory and hard drive manufacturer info are on the labels on the parts.
Same for the floppy and optical drives.

The power supply, case, mainboard, video card, and other internal components
most likely came from Hon Hai (Foxconn) or Celestica, which are two of
Dell's major contract suppliers.

You can't see it before you receive the pc. After that, open the box and you
will see. I also have a 8300. I list my itmes.

HD. Seagate 7200.7 SATA 120 Gig.
Video. 9800XT by ATI.
Mem. 2x 512 Muskin 400.
DVD+R. Nec 2100A
DVD Rom. Liteon.
Sound. Audigy2 by Creative.

There is no raid onboard, if you ordered this, you will get a Promise card.

But, the Original Poster may have identially spec'd his machine and have
Samsung Memory and a LG DVD drive. Might have a Maxtor hard drive.
Whatever is cheapest is in the bin and that is what they put together.
