and currently all my PCI slots are filled and i am afraid because everything is all packed closly (my usb card is block my GF4 fan right now) that it's burst into flames one of these day.... i am want to upgrade but all my friend are saying i already have a sweet system (got it in 2001) the question is if i say upgrade this sys with

A7N8X deluxe
Corsair Twin pack 2x256 ram
and maybe a new XP 2700 - 3000+

will performance really jump out
i am talking about HUGE jump like switching from a 1980 ford to a porache 911 turbo
or i should just stick with this old rig and wait for the hammer also what is the equvalent Intel Cpu to my Thunderbird 1.4Ghz

It depends on whether that 1980 Ford is a 428ci dual 4Bbl, highrise intake, headers, pushing 500+ horsepower, Shelby Mustang or not.

You'll see a noticeable difference, but don't expect twice the performance, or you may be disapointed, have you considered O/Cing the processor, to see what you can get out of it, or are you already doing that, those Tbirds were good overclockers.

Details, Details, Its all in the Details, If you need help, Don't leave out the Details.

If you got the money, why not? I got an Asus A7N8X and Corsair memory with no problems. Everything runs great. I am looking to upgrade my processor to an Athlon 2600+. I am currently running a Duron 900. And yes, you will see a noticable performance boost. I got a new motherboard, memory, and a GeForce 4 Ti 4200, and I went from 3000 in 3DMark 2001 to over 7000. So, yes, UPGRADE!
