Hp pavillion dv8000 display flashes when moved

The display flickers as the display bracket was moved to various positions until a position was reached and the display became stable. Upon a disassembly of the display housing to check for possible connector/wiriing problems etc.... the entire display became extremely dim. Tapping around the video board, jiggling the cables, or any thing would not cause the normal brighteness to return, not even momentarily. Can you help. Thanks

It's your LCD inverter, this is a hardware component and usually has symptoms similar to yours. The only way to fix it is to replace the component or check for wiring issues around it.

Also, HP recommends not opening up your computer if the warranty is still valid, as it voids the warranty.
