hi!

Just bought a ngg but I believ there is something not right. When I
shoot the center ramp bud comes out of the playfield and can be knocked
down. After that the ramp stays open and a ball can be locked(the ball
goes to the upkicker just above the bumpers and stays there). A new
ball is served in the shooter lane but then it happens: Whenever a ball
is shot in the putt out hole, the upkicker will always give 2 balls
(the one that was locked and the one that was just shot into the
putting hole)

Is this normal? All optos beneath the playfield are working as well as
the one switch just before the upkicker.

What' s next?

Thanks
Peter

be sure that the trough optos are functioning as well and that the balls
aren't getting hung up in the trough.
but I would still most likely suspect an opto near the kickout under the
playfield.
how are u testing the optos?

I test opto' s with a ball, all tests good. Resoldered all of the pads
on the trough and the small opto boards.

Problem stays...

Anyone had this problem before?

Nope.. Does the VUK kick both balls simultaneously? If so, probably a
mechanical issue. If two seperate kicks, it's thinking the ball didn't
make it up the first time, so the rear opto is staying open too long.

Found it!!!

The little microswitch just in front of the upkicker was working
intermittently. Also the ball often got stuck on the switch. Hard to
see with the playfield raised.
