Hello,
My dell xps 15z shuts down sometimes when I play games. Sometimes it runs perfectly fine, and once in a while it randomly shuts down. I play on hard, flat surfaces so the heat doesn't build up. I have also checked all my drivers and updated them. This has happened before and after I updated them. Any idea what the problem could be and how I can fix it? Thanks in advance.

Just because its on a hard flat surface doesn't mean that's its not having over heating issues.. with this model you can flick it upside down and see the cpu or gpu fan.. if this fan looks dirty you def's have an over heating problem... but considering is's a fairly new unit I would say that its unlikely.

Double check if you have any un-necessary software... If you have loads of applications loading up on start up and continuing to run your computer could be copping a bit of a performance hit, and it the worst cases,.. simply shut-down.. Also carry out a full virus scan... never hurts..
