I do alot of large file transfer and am always running low on disk space on
my C: drive. When this happens I lose my restore point information. Can I
have the restore point information stored on drive d: which I never run low
on space?

System Restore points can not be directed to a drive other
than the one Windows XP is installed on.

Hi Eric,

No, a System Volume Information folder (where System Restore stores it's information) is
located on each partition/drive. What you can do is reduce the amount of disk space System
Restore uses to hold restore points. On large drives this is normally set way to high. One
GB should be sufficient. While reducing the store size, the older restore points will be
deleted.

You may want to look into using the Disk Cleanup tool.

Restore points are stored on the individual drives that system restore
monitors and can't be redirected. You can't do what you want to do.

Even if you temporarily solve the disk space problem by disabling system
restore or other means, it's just a temp solution. YOu really need a
larger HDD.
