My Tbred B 1700+ is sitting at 2.2Ghz. Not a bad overclock if you ask me, I've heard of people getting them higher with some really good watercooling.

Athlon XP 1700+ (T-bred "B")

I also think the 1700+ B is a great OCer.

So do I as mine runs at 1920MHz (167*11.5) on Abit KX7-333R.

 Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.

thats a common overclock for the T-Bred B 1700+'s dude....soem ppl. r hitting 2.3, 2.4 and even as high as 2.55GHz...with air cooling.....

i know if i had a T-Bred B id easily hit those speeds as my air cooling is better than anythign u can get on the market....

What??? 2.55Ghz on air cooling?? That's an 82 percent overclock! Geez, and i'm having a hard time keeping mine at 2.4Ghz with a 166Mhz bus. I doubt it's my cooler, Alpha Pal8045t.

P4 2.4B C1 core or the 1700+ Tbred B core

2.4B with a 1Ghz overclock with 1.675v on Gigabyte GA-8INXP DC DDR mobo.

Want to see memory bandwidth scores? heh Yes I know that is almost Sprindale bandwidth /cheer

yeah yeah, the mystical Volcano 7+, but I want to see one in action before I actually believe it can do those good of temps. Honestly, it doens't have the largest surface area and the fan has to be at ridiculous loud high to work most effiently. I have no idea how his beats my Alpha Pal 8045t, only on the most ridiculous loud setting can I get a 27.5 degrees celsius under load, but it's not fun to listen to a Vantec Tornado at full blast. I'm down to more minimal airflow, at roughly 2700 rpms while i'm overclocked.

Instead of Rdram, why not just merge 4 Sdram channels...

P4 2.4@ a little over 3ghz....GA-8PE667 Ultra, Volcano7+, 4 thermaltake smart fans(2 intake, 2 exhaust), Antec1040 highly modded--top exhaust fan (all fans 80mm)

I run at 32C under load. Hey fugger, I'd love to check out some watercooling solutions, which I believe is what you use. Could you please either leave a message in this thread, or private message me with your setup?...thanx man

bah, i've seen better overclocks than that, the good old Pentium 4 1.6a and 1.8a did 2.6Ghz+ on stock cooling

Instead of Rdram, why not just merge 4 Sdram channels...

oops, I lied....hit 36C underload about 2 minutes ago....springtime is coming....ha
This overclock is good for this CPU Quet. I forgot to mention, that unfortunately I don't have a C1 P4 either, so it's good. From my experience, it seems that the better overclocked cpu's land just after a new core. You're catching the core at a time when it's meant to scale for some time, so there's always head room. As you approach the cores limit, or when it approaches time for a core revision, the overclock isn't as easy. There are exceptions to every rule of course, but for the most part this is what I've seen.
Good luck with your hunt man!

Oh, I forgot to mention that your overclock is dependant on your memory as well Quet. I'm using Mushkin PC2700....perhaps with higher rated memory you could get higher. My temps are good; I'm sure the CPU could take more, but my memory just won't do it.

I put my vote on the XP2100+ Tbred B, no doubt about it.

Nice set up! I was looking into something much more simple, like the aphanix or thermaltake watercooling solutions, but you inspired me....hehe.
I'm going to look around and see what I can come up with. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
