Intel vga drivers will not install on asus b53s-xh71

i'm trying to update my intel hd graphics driver with no success as of yet. i've used drivermax to update and when the driver tries to install the screen goes black. i tried installing the drivers manually from intel's website and i kept getting error messages saying the driver was not validated for this computer and that i needed drivers from the manufacturers website. i tried that as well and still got the same message stating that the drivers were not validated for this computer. so i'm now in a bind. obviously something's up when even the vga driver downloaded from asus' website will not install. any help in resolving this matter will be greatly appreciated.

That's a laptop, you need to get the drivers for it right from ASUS. You need to make sure you get the right drivers. There are Intel and ATI drivers as well as 32 bit and 64 bit drivers.

i've tried doing that but i still get that same message saying the driver is not validated for this computer.

Install the ATI drivers from Asus.

won't that interfere with the switchable graphics feature?
