Which would be better for overclocking:

AthlonXP 2600 333MHz bus vs. AthlonXP 2600 266MHz bus ?

I am guessing both have unlocked multipliers.

I would most definately take the 2600 with the 333 fsb, you want your fsb to be as big as possible, it is a very large factor in speed.

I agree, a faster bus speed is always preferable but thats not the question.

If there are no multiplier locks on either a 2600XP 333mhz or 2600XP 266mhz such that you can choose whatever bus speed or multiplier you want, which one would achieve a higher speed, ie which one has better overclocking potential?

so you think even though its rated at a slightly slower speed, the fact that it is rated for a higher bus speed makes the 166MHz chip more likely to reach a higher overclock.

no....wotn make a difference........i bet there overclock to the same theoretical maximum as they'll both be made off of the same Core Stepping.......

ur best off with a AXP 1700+ it will overclock beyond 2800+ speeds....
