I got a pretty strong build system. It's running under a Corsair 850HX PSU. I've been looking around for UPS for power backup (I don't have too much knowledge about those yet) I would appreciate someone to tell me how to exactly calculate which UPS to get. Some say 1.5 times ur PSU, some say more, but in the end it looks like i have to get a UPS that costs 300+!!!!. I would also like to know if there are any UPS that has some sort of auto-shutdow system, since if im not home and my computer is running, there is almost no point in getting a UPS...

Read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uninterruptible_power_supply

And now, that you know what is a UPS and how this work:

We don't need that the PC keeps turn on for a long time if the electricall power is off. with this, the most usually UPS for home use are 500VA or 750VA. Some one like this canl help to you:

1- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842111234 (With automatic PC shutdown)

2- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842101311 (With automatic PC shutdown)

Why only 450W?, 'cause if you aren't in home, your printer is off, your monitor is off, your speakers aren't playing music..so, less power. And, your computer not always is too full load.

You only need 2 or 3 minutes for shutdown the PC.

Now, if you want a big UPS, you need something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842111101 , that, i'm sure, is more expensive that your PC.
