No playback on sound test

Ok take two. I came here a few weeks back with a mic issue where I was not getting sound off my mic. I've tried various fixes from this forum and other forums with no luck. The only problem I could find is that when I try to test the mic the playback is greyed out and I'm unable to change the volume level on it.

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm some what sick of being a mute on the games I play.
