hey everybody, I downloaded hmonitor 2 days ago. I notice something about a temperature correction. I saw the FAQ and it looked like this:
Processor brand Compensation Critical temperature
AMD K5 PR133 8 C (*)
AMD K5 PR166 17 C (*)
AMD K6 166 8 C 70 C
AMD K6 200 8 C 70 C
AMD K6-2 14 C (*)
Cyrix M2 PR200 15 C (*)
IDT WinChip C6 20 C (*)
Intel Pentium MMX 22 C 80 C
Intel Pentium II 15 C (*) 70 C
(*) not confirmed

There was no listing for my cpu which is a Athlon XP 1800+ I was wondering how would I be able to find this out? Also when I look at the monitor it shows mainboard,CPU1,CPU2,Fan1,Fan2. My question is why would it read a CPU2 when I only have 1 CPU? Any help would be greatly apprecaited. Sorry for the long post. Thanks for your time and help.

I'd start by getting some better software...

If you want it free (and who doesn't?) try MBPROBE, it's never let me down. It tucks itself away in your task bar showing CPU temp, and pops up when needed. It's reasonably accurate, also monitors fans and voltages and can shut your system down if things go too far astray.

If you prefer something fancier with a bunch of onscreen dials and gages try MBMONITOR... It's got some nice bells and whistles, but does about the same job as MBPROBE.
