I have a Latitude D500 that seems to not be able to read DVD-R. I have
burned copied DVDs using a external Sony DVD Burner. These DVD are
able to be played with the Sony DVD Burner and also my regular Sony
DVD Player.

I do not get any errors or anything. It just does not recognized the
DVD as a disk to play.

The drive is probably too old to read that format.

A D500 is pretty new.

I guess the obvious question. You sure it is a DVD drive, not a CD drive?
