I hooked my Computer to my LCD monitor using a DVI to HDMI cord and no have no sound. I used to be hooked up with a DVI to PC and used a simple black cord that carried the sound and now that same cord does not work. Is there a setting I need to change so I can get sound now or a cord I need?

Q: 1 What is your sound output when using DVI to PC?
2 What is your sound output when using DVD to HDMI?
3 what kind of connection the "black cord" has?
4 Are you using the same monitor except the Video connection?

Note: If your are using a TV, then you need to send the audio to a separated audio system because your TV won't be able to play sound from your HDMI connection. Unless you have DVI to HDMI converter like the links below, or some of the recent video cards, like ATI Radeon 3xxx and 4xxx series, as well as Nvidia's 9xxx and GTX series or higher that has the ability to output sound.
