Hello,

I am trying to connect mt HP laptop to my Yamaha RX V463 using an out cable - trouble is I do not know where to connect it to the AV receiver - I do not know if I am making the wrong connection or whether my AV receiver does not recognise a laptop

I assume you are trying to use the 3.5 headphone jack on the laptop to the RCA inputs on the front, be careful that the folume is turned down on the laptop so that the sound isn't over modulated

The green jack from the laptop, headphone jack, 3.5 mm stereo plug, to RCA plugs, the RCA plugs can be connected to AUX input on the AV receiver, you can buy the adapter cable at Radio Shack.
