Remote for samsung home theatre system not working

Hello,I have a samsung blu-ray player and my remote was working just fine. yesterday, I just woke up and its not working any more. when I press the Tv/AV button, it changes colour between green and yellow, so I think the batteries are fine. There was a time I could use it for operating volume changes in the TV, but now cannot do that either. what could be the problem?

Check the batteries. There may still be juice in them to light LED lamp in the remote commander but not enough to transmit signals to TV and player.

Had same problem,pried open my remote.capacitor had dry joint,resoldered ,all ok
