I was installing a new fan on my 1.4 Athlon when the center
tab broke off of the slot A chip seat. Can anyone tell me if I can replace the chip seat?? The fan only has one tab slot to connect too, which is in the center. I still have tabs on either side of the one that broke off. I could buy a new fan but wanted to know if there is an easier fix.

I don't think it is easy to fix it. Buy a HSF w/ 3 tab clip

A fan with a 3 tab clip as suggested or if the motherboard is still under warranty, get it replaced.

Some heatsinks mount with all the tabs latched, you could look for one.

If you have a motherboard with the 4 holes around the chipseat you could get one of the Swiftech models that uses them.
