Please suggest laptops!!! Stuck with short 1k budget


Been looking at laptops and Clevo looks really nice but outside $1000 sadly. Also looked at Dells but have heard about reliability problems with them. HP too.

What recommendations can you make?

It should have a non intel graphics card IMO- are those things still bad? If it can run Linux that's a bonus.

1_What is your budget? $1000
2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 13''-16''
4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? desktop replacement laptop between homes.
5_How much battery life do you need? not important since it'll run off mains.
6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? Want to run light 3D games like Guild Wars on Medium settings.
7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing,watching movies, Etc.) Graphical work.
8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need? Not much is needed.
10_How long do you want to keep your laptop? 3 years
11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? Prefer to have an external one OUTSIDE the laptop.
12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. No preference
13_What country do you live in? UK

  1. Those laptops are really cool. Unfortunately newegg doesn't ship to the UK.

    Can anyone suggest a good site for ordering them from the UK... I've been looking the last 30 mins and haven't found it sold anywhere else.

    I heard Sony laptops have weak performance. This has dual core CPU 2.1Ghz, 4 GB ram and Ati radeon HD... is this a good laptop?

    Do you need a Blu-Ray optical drive? If not you can save a couple hundred quid and go with a very similar
