I thought the Tbred B's were the 166 FSB processors from AMD and that all the Tbred A's were the 133 FSB chips.
Im not completely understanding how it is that the XP 1700+ is called a Tbred 'B'.

Someone care to help me out with this, point me in the direction of an article or two etc etc. :)
Im going to be buying 2 systems shortly and I wanna make sure I get the right stuff :)

I mean is there any way to check the serial number? I know how to check it with wcpuid, but that would be AFTER I purchased it , I was hoping to increase my chances of finding one before I purchase. (or are they all pretty much Tbred B's?)

No, there are T-Bred B at 133MHz FSB too.

>>>All 2400+, 2600+, 2700+ are <font color=red>T-Bred B</font color=red>.
>>>2500+ and 3000+ are <font color=red>Barton</font color=red>.
>>>2800+ can be Barton (AXDA2800DKV<b>4</b>D) or T-Bred B (AXDA2800DKV<b>3</b>D).
>>>2200+, 2100+, 2000+, 1900+, 1800+ and 1700+ can be T-Bred A or B.

For 1700+ to 2100+: AXDAXXXX<b>DLT</b>3C are <font color=red>T-Bred A</font color=red> and AXDAXXXX<b>DUT</b>3C are <font color=red>T-Bred B</font color=red>.
For the 2200+: AXDA2200<b>DKV</b>3C is <font color=red>T-Bred A</font color=red>. I'm not sure what is is the OPN of the 2200+ T-Bred B :frown: .

Also if it is T-Bred B the core stepping ends w/ letter <b>"B" (ex. AIHGB)</b> and if it is Thoroughbred A the core stepping ends w/ letter <b>"A" (ex. AIUGA)</b>.
