Why does printers colored ink run without using it / Tags: Printers Canon Peripherals Product Last response: December 9, 2009 7:51 PM in Computer Peripherals Share Anonymous December 9, 2009 6:49:34 PM I seldom print in color on my Canon iP1800, yet it runs out and must be replaced so I can print in black. Why????? More about : printers colored ink run Anonymous December 9, 2009 7:51:35 PM Short answer is the ink dries up, clogging the print head. If you rarely print in colour, inkjets are poor value -- if you print regularly they are expensive to run. I would get a laser printer -- colour, even, now that they are coming down in price. Because it's dry medium the toner can last years between uses. Can't find your answer ? Ask ! Publish Related resources: ForumWhy does the Espon 2200 use colored inks to produce muddy ..
