This site has so many choices in each category. Based on reviews on tomshardware.com, I tried to configure an nForce 2 mobo with dual channel CAS 2 RAM (of which there are several types even under same brand).

Not interested in overclocking, at least right away.

I've not ordered from an online configurator before so I had a couple of other questions:

1. Any ideas on the fan listed? Just went with the default. Again, probably not going to OC.

2. Same thing with the case, I went with defaults. Did want front panel USB, not sure about only a 300 watt power supply.

3. Will I be able to install XP with a stock XP Pro CD? I presume any drivers I'd need would come with the hardware or I could download updated drivers. One thing I wonder about is USB 2.0 support, which is not in XP but drivers would come with mobo?

4. How does ncix.com's prices appear? Looked around for various sites and they seem as reasonable as any other, especially the shipping costs. I've heard good things about their support.

The stock OEM fan is acceptable if your not overclocking. If you want super quiet though, i suggest a larger type heatsink with a 80mm slow fan.

300W? relly depends on the manufacturer. If its a generic one, NO. get quality name brands like enermax, antec or toptower.

The XP pro cd should install the basic drivers, and the CD supplied with the graphics card and motherboard. However its allways best getting online and installing the latest drivers for most things, especially the motherboard and graphics card.
