AMD, in general. Depends on which core you're talking about. You can't make an all-encompassing generalization.

Well, I would say that it's a mute point. Both displace about 70W....

Both run cool enough with stock cooling.

In clock to clock comparison then it would be AMD because it has a higher IPC.

probably the t-bird at 1.4ghz and the top rated willy Intel cpu's, and possibly even the top rated northwood core with HT at 3ghz would be fairly hot.

ya ... might have something to do with it running at 3ghz maybe? just the barton 300+ runs pretty hot too. Which btw they are the same price. barton 3000+ is 575 and Intel 3ghz with HT is 575. Both at newegg btw.

weird how AMD jacked up there prices huh? So much for the price wars!

I guess they finally figured out how much more money they could have made. All they ever had to do was be $10.00 cheaper than the comparable Intel product... We should be glad it lasted as long as it did.
