I looking to buy a netbook, and im looking to get one with a HDMI video out. Now, my question is... If my netbook is HDMI out... whats the max resolution that it will display? will it accomidate the TV or Monitor or will it only max out at certain resolution?
the reason i ask this... bc most netbooks are VGA out>> and the VGA out notebooks are around 100-150 less than one with the hdmi. the purpose for this netbook book purchase is that im looking to play video from the netbook and hook it up via HDMI to a samsung 52" lcd 1080p.. and wanna make sure im getting the best picture possible. and if there is not going to be any different between the resolution then i wont bother with HDMI. the guys from bestbuy tell me that the HDMI out will max out at the max resolution the 10.5" netbook screen can display... and that to me doesnt sound right?... please help thanks guys!
Just because a netbook has a display resolution of 1024 x 600 doesnt mean it can't output a 1920x1080 (or higher) signal to an external display/monitor/TV. The Bestbuy guys were wrong again, or you misunderstood what they were telling you.
I think you should compare the 10"-12" netbooks with the 13"-14" notebooks.
You want enough CPU power (or CPU/GPU power) to decode the HD video streams without too much effort.
Ion graphics or Intel GMA 4500MHD or above are what you want for graphics IMO.
