Thermal Pad or Arctic Silver?

AMD say to use thermal pad for long term but AC3 has been working on my comps for one year now. So should I slap a thermal pad on the heatsink?

Just about any heat sink grease is going to outperform those dumb-assed thermal pads. I find it hard to get AS in this area so I use the stuff Radio Shack sells, works just dandy, typically 4 or 5 degrees cooler than the thermal pads.
AMD recommends the rubber pads for production uses because they adhere to the CPU and help prevent the heat sink from being disturbed during shipping.
