On turning on my computer (Compaq Presario 700 series laptop) I am receiving
an error message (ntldr is missing) so I am trying to reinstall windows xp
home edition via the boot discs (all six) as I insert the second boot disc
for xp I receive an error message stating ntkrnlmp.exe error code 7. Does
anyone know how I can reinstall my xp home edition and solve this problem?
Thank you in advance for your help, time and consideration.

Doesn't your rig have a CD-ROM? If so, boot the XP CD from it.
