Batch scanning

I would like to scan in a few thousand pages of personal double-sided documents. I gather so far from what I've read that the Fujitsu duplex scanner would be the best machine for the job, but I can't afford one. Also, this is really just a one time thing, and once I have my documents scanned in I won't need the use of the scanner any longer. I do not simply want to drop the documents off somewhere, I would like to do the scanning myself. Does anyone know if there is any kind of shop where you can pay to use a duplex scanner for a certain amount of time? Or are there rental options, and if so, where should I go for more information?

A large public library might offer you that facility, though you may have to speak to the Chief Librarian.

But a bureau is your best bet -- scanning is very boring and best left to others.
